Calculate volume, weight, and material requirements for your concrete countertop, including aprons and sink cutouts.
1. Enter the total length and width of your countertop in inches.
2. Specify the thickness (typically 1.5" to 2").
3. If your design includes a built-up edge (apron), enter the overhang depth and visual height.
4. Enter sink cutout dimensions if applicable to deduct that volume automatically.
5. Adjust the waste buffer (10% is standard) to account for spillage and form loss.
What is an apron? An apron (or built-up edge) is a visual thickening of the countertop edge, usually achieved by laminating a strip underneath the perimeter.
How much does concrete weigh? Standard concrete mix weighs approximately 150 lbs per cubic foot (2,400 kg/m³).
Do I need rebar? For countertops thinner than 2", fiber mesh is usually sufficient. For longer spans, consider rebar or wire mesh.
