Concrete Resurfacing Calculator

Estimate concrete resurfacer or overlay material, bags, area coverage, cost, labor range, and a printable Concrete Depot report with a live 3D surface preview.

Measurement inputs
Calculate resurfacer bags, area, thickness, and material cost.
Live calculation
Used in the printable report.
Changes starter units only.
Use custom area if you already know the square footage.
Surface size
Enter a length greater than 0.
Enter a width greater than 0.
Overlay material
Common resurfacer thickness is often thin, such as 1/16 in to 1/4 in. Enter a thickness greater than 0.
Use 10% for a normal job, more for rough surfaces. Waste cannot be negative.
Use the coverage listed on your resurfacer bag. Enter coverage greater than 0.
Example: 20 sq ft per bag at 1/8 in. Enter coverage thickness greater than 0.
Bag size is shown in the report.
Optional material price per bag. Bag price cannot be negative.

What is concrete resurfacing?

Concrete resurfacing adds a thin repair or overlay layer over sound existing concrete. It can improve the surface, color, texture, and light wear without removing the full slab.

How thick is concrete overlay?

Many resurfacer products are applied thin. Always check the product label. Rough, damaged, or decorative surfaces may need more material than a smooth slab.

When should concrete be replaced?

If the slab is moving, badly cracked, sinking, or structurally weak, resurfacing may not fix the problem. Replacement or repair may be needed first.

Why costs vary online

Concrete resurfacing cost changes by surface prep, local labor, finish type, sealer, product coverage, and the real condition of the existing concrete.
