How to use the steel bar weight calculator

Select the bar shape, enter the steel size, length, quantity, and material. The calculator will show weight per piece, total weight, weight per foot or meter, volume, tons, and cost if a price is entered.

Steel bar weight formula

The main method is simple: cross-section area × length × density. Round, square, flat, and hex bars use different area formulas, but the final weight method is the same.

Use the round bar tab for mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel 304, and stainless steel 316 round bars. The report includes the diameter, length, material density, and full formula.
